絵は上手くなるのか？
文章を書くよりは絵を描くほうがましなのですが、メモ書きに描いた絵などは自分でしか解読不可能なものを描いてしますことが多々あります。小学生の頃図工の先生に褒められて自分では絵が上手く描ける部類なのだと思い込んで成長して来ましたが、大人になるたびにあの先生は見る目がなかったんだなぁと人のせいにしてました。
で、この本！右側の脳で描く訓練をすれば上手くなると書いてあるらしくNDO::Weblogさんで取り上げていたのでさっそく購入に踏み切ろうと思っています。
『脳の右側で描け』、これは田口さんが絶賛していたもので、この本に書かれた記述に忠実に従うことで、劇的に絵画能力が向上するという本だそうです。本当に驚くぐらい絵がうまくなるそう。
だそうです。「百式」の田口さんが「超本格会議」で推薦した本らしくホンとは人に教えたくないというぐらい効果があるみたいです。
これで長年眠った私の才能も開花するだろうか？まぁ何事も訓練訓練ですかな。
ところで右脳を使うって？（参照サイト）
みたいなことらしいです。
人の横顔のシルエットの輪郭線を使って花びんの左側の線を描きます。次に、これと対称な線を花びんの右側の線として描き、花びんを完成させます。
左半分を描いたときは、ここは額、ここは目、ここは鼻、口と、顔の部品の名前を次々と言いながら、そのシンボルとして覚えている形を描いていったでしょう。これが左脳モードによる描きかたです。
次に、右半分を描いたときはどうでしたか？こんどは左半分がすでにできていて、それを見て正確に対称形に描くことが必要ですから、シンボルで描いていてはうまくいきませんね。左の形をよく見て、そこが額か鼻かなどとは考えずに具体的な曲線の形、傾き、どのくらい中心近くに寄っているかなどを観察しながら、それにそって正確に鉛筆を動かそうとしたことでしょう。その時の頭の中の状態を思い出して下さい。言葉は消えて、線の形を具体的に追っている静かな状態になっていたことに気づきましたか？これが右脳モードの状態です。この状態を覚えて、絵を描くときにはいつもこのモードに切り換わるようにするのです。

さあ、才能（じぶん）に目覚めよう
購入したきっかけは２年前に購読していたメルマガ「百式」さんの記事に釣られて１６００円も出して買ってしまいました。この本の主張は「あなたの能力を伸ばす一番の余地は、あなたが生まれながらにして持つ天性の強みにこそある」、「優秀な人物は自分の強みを飛躍的に向上させた人々であり、弱みを克服した人々ではないのである」などなどいかにも欧米人のポジティブ思考がなせる業ってなことを書いているんですが、私の弱み克服的ネガティブ思考にはその時ビビッときました。それと「自分の強みが何かわかる！ウエブサイトへのアクセスID付き」なんてな仕掛けもあって一度っきりですが、一問２０秒１８０問というオンラインテストに直感的に答えて行くと自分が生まれながらにもった５つの強みを判定してくれます。私の判定結果は「Adaptability/適応性」、「Significance/自我」、「Ideation/着想」、「Input/収集心」、「Developer/成長促進」という３４にも別れた強みのなかの５つでした。本書にも各項目に付いて詳しく書かれているのでテストしてから読み返してみても面白ですね。そんなもので気分転換や発想の転換には持って来いの１冊かもしれません。
