絵は上手くなるのか？
文章を書くよりは絵を描くほうがましなのですが、メモ書きに描いた絵などは自分でしか解読不可能なものを描いてしますことが多々あります。小学生の頃図工の先生に褒められて自分では絵が上手く描ける部類なのだと思い込んで成長して来ましたが、大人になるたびにあの先生は見る目がなかったんだなぁと人のせいにしてました。
で、この本！右側の脳で描く訓練をすれば上手くなると書いてあるらしくNDO::Weblogさんで取り上げていたのでさっそく購入に踏み切ろうと思っています。
『脳の右側で描け』、これは田口さんが絶賛していたもので、この本に書かれた記述に忠実に従うことで、劇的に絵画能力が向上するという本だそうです。本当に驚くぐらい絵がうまくなるそう。
だそうです。「百式」の田口さんが「超本格会議」で推薦した本らしくホンとは人に教えたくないというぐらい効果があるみたいです。
これで長年眠った私の才能も開花するだろうか？まぁ何事も訓練訓練ですかな。
ところで右脳を使うって？（参照サイト）
みたいなことらしいです。
人の横顔のシルエットの輪郭線を使って花びんの左側の線を描きます。次に、これと対称な線を花びんの右側の線として描き、花びんを完成させます。
左半分を描いたときは、ここは額、ここは目、ここは鼻、口と、顔の部品の名前を次々と言いながら、そのシンボルとして覚えている形を描いていったでしょう。これが左脳モードによる描きかたです。
次に、右半分を描いたときはどうでしたか？こんどは左半分がすでにできていて、それを見て正確に対称形に描くことが必要ですから、シンボルで描いていてはうまくいきませんね。左の形をよく見て、そこが額か鼻かなどとは考えずに具体的な曲線の形、傾き、どのくらい中心近くに寄っているかなどを観察しながら、それにそって正確に鉛筆を動かそうとしたことでしょう。その時の頭の中の状態を思い出して下さい。言葉は消えて、線の形を具体的に追っている静かな状態になっていたことに気づきましたか？これが右脳モードの状態です。この状態を覚えて、絵を描くときにはいつもこのモードに切り換わるようにするのです。

レイアウトの憂鬱
pMachineやMovable TypeなどのBlogツールを使い出してからほぼサイトのレイアウトはスタイルシートで組むようになったのですが、便利なあまり多用し過ぎてあるブラウザではとんでもないレイアウトになってしまったり、微調整するのにどこを変えたらいいのか訳分からんようになっている今日この頃です。
皆さんはどうやって、というかどのくらいのブラウザでチェックしているのでしょうか？私は１台のWindowsマシン環境しかないのでWinIE6.0、NN7.1、Opera6.0の３種類でしかチャックしてませんが、その３種類すら昨夜画像の配置調整などに数時間もかかってしまいました。たったこの３種類ですら微妙に違うのに最近気になるMozillaやMacのSafariなどからはどう見えてるのだろうと気になって仕方ありません。
自分の勉強不足ってのが一番なのと素人の嘆きでしかありませんが、いいチェックの方法とかこの環境ではこう見えてるよ、とか何でもかまいませんので教えてほしいなとつくづく思った週末でしたです。

Jack made the trade, then backtracked to his house. But when
he told his busy-waiting parent of the deal, she became so angry she
started thrashing.

writing. Always pick on the correct idiom. The adverb always follows
the verb. Last but not least, avoid cliches like the plague; seek
viable alternatives.

最近Blogツールを変えたばかりなのですが、いろんなツールがちまたに出回っています。私ですら４～５種類のBlogツールをとっかえひっかえ試してみました。で、そんなときに必要なのがネット上のツール情報なのですが、特に日本語の情報は流行りどころのMovable Type以外はかなり少なめってなことで試すにもけっこう手間がかかってしまいます。そんなもので日本語の分かりやすい各ツールの説明サイトがあればいいなっと思っていましたが、「Blog of Yoshishin」というところで十分すぎるぐらいのツールを網羅したスクリーンショット付きの解説を載せてくれています。（情報もとは「NDO::Weblog」さん）一度試してみたいって方は参考になると思います。
